The olive tree has been the symbol of Anatolia for thousands of years and the Milas region of Muğla is known as the olive capital of Turkey. Despite this, Milas has been poisoned by two coal power plants and the livelihoods of the villagers have been destroyed by coal mining activities for the last 40 years. Today, this ancient tree is resisting the coal expansion. This is the story of the eternal tree and the fight against the polluters in Milas. It is based on the witnessing of Akbelen Forest’s Defenders and scientists. They are explaining how olive production can be the transition opportunity for local economy against the coal driven electrical power production.
